Yes, I know that Christmas is a forbidden word at this time of year, but you can make an exception for the latest trailer for the new film from Aardman Animation, the Wallace & Gromit people.
The idea of shedding light on the mystery of Santa Claus is nothing new – Tim Allen got plenty of mileage out of it – but Arthur Christmas looks plenty slick, funny and inventive. It’s not claymation, but whilst it’s cgi they’ve avoided trying to make it look like clay, like they did with Flushed Away. Whilst personally I’m more excited for Aardman’s Pirates! next year, this looks pretty fantastic too. I saw some footage at Moviefest and it really does look hugely fun. it’s released November 23.
